Description
Salzwiesen Bülk is an area of rewetted meadows. In the open area, hundreds of geese such as Grágæs, Kanadagæs and ducks such as Gargönd, Skeiðönd and Rauðhöfðaönd can be seen, especially during migration. There are also a variety of waders, such as Hrossagaukur and Heiðlóa.
The road and footpath lead directly past the area and offer good observation opportunities. At the end of the road is the Bülk lighthouse. Other waders can be seen on the beach, for example the Tildra and Sendlingur. Rare, exceptional sightings are also possible, such as the Eastern Yellow Wagtail, which is very rare in Germany.
