Description

The in parts newly rewetted polders around Anklam are ideal, especially those around the river Peene, for observing special breeding birds as well as many migrants during the whole season. The large scale water areas inhabit a huge amount of waterfowl with species like Skeiðönd, Taumönd and Grágæs. Besides reed breeders such as Brúnheiðir and Síkjasöngvari, sometimes Stargoði and Skeggþerna are found there with several pairs, not to forget all the other species of their belonging groups. Furthermore, depending on the season, different birds of prey like Haförn , Gráheiðir or Gunnfálki can also be discovered here.
