Description
Nordstrand Wilhelmshaven - Jade-Weser-Port consists of a strip of washed-up sand that forms a wide beach and delimits a salt marsh. Since the extensive coastal and dyke area in the area is unfortunately concreted, some waders, gulls and ducks are concentrated in this area. It is probably the best observation area for waders in Wilhelmshaven. In winter this is a pretty reliable place to watch Lyngfinka. On the lake side, interesting ducks can often be observed like (Hvinönd, Gulönd etc.) On the fallow areas of the Jade-Weser-Port you can also see some birds of the open country. Here you can find Sönglævirki, Steindepill and Vepja, and occasionally Bláheiðir.
