Description
The Nuthe-Nieplitz lowland is a bird's paradise. The observation tower on the Nieplitzwiesen near Beelitz gives good views of the area and its birds. You have a wonderful view of the Nieplitz lowlands with small alder quarries and flowering wet meadows, of the Nieplitzlauf and a reed arm of the Nieplitz. The Nieplitzwiesen are flooded in spring and offer Hvítstorkur, Vepja or Vatnagleða a good range of food, breeding opportunities and resting places. Also during bird migration, many birds can be seen. Among the other birds you can see here are Grágæs, Svölugleða, Músvákur, Turnfálki, Þistilfinka, Grátrana, Dílaskarfur, Rauðhöfðaönd, Mjallhegri and Bláþyrill.
