Description

Moosschwaige has surprisingly varied habitats. There are reedbeds (Sefsöngvari, Reyrsöngvari), ponds and streams (Keldusvín, Bláþyrill) with attached wetland being actively maintained by beavers. There are also woods and grassland.

Star species are Spésöngvari, Þyrnisvarri and Gaukur in the summer, Grásvarri in the winter, and woodpeckers all year round, including Stubbspæta , Gráspæta and Svartspæta.

Access

Moosschwaige is located in the west of Munich, reachable from Aubing or Freiham S-Bahn (30 minute walk). Allow at least two hours to explore. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 4 km.
