Description
Loisach-Kochelsee-Moore: the extensive wet meadows, low and raised bogs, reed areas, the nearby forests and the river Loisach itself offer a habitat for a variety of bird species. The area stretches from Benediktbeuern to Kochelsee and is easily accessible via numerous paths. During the breeding season in spring, some paths are closed to the public. Among the birds you can see or hear are Engirella, Fjöruspói, Vallskvetta, Þyrnisvarri, Grásvarri, Hvítstorkur, Brúnheiðir, Sönglævirki and Straumerla. But many more, see the birdlist below. From spring to autumn whith some luck you might be able to spot a pair of resident Grátrana .

Access
The northern part of the area can be easily explored from the Benediktbeuern monastery. There is winter feeding and an observation platform in a barn. The circular route shown on the map is about 8,5 km long.
