Description
The Leipheimer Moos is a beautiful moorland with wide areas for Brúnheiðir as well as the rare Engirella, Gulerla, Engisöngvari and migratory Þúfutittlingur. In the reed areas north of the border ditch Blábrystingur likes to sing, in the cattle pastures Hagaskvetta and along the boardwalk circuit (the boardwalk itself is unfortunately closed) Gauktíta, Næturgali, Hrossagaukur, Vepja, Þyrnisöngvari, Gaukur, Fashani and Svartspæta can be heard or seen.
Also worth a visit in autumn/winter when there are Bláheiðir, Grásvarri, Brandugla, Blesgæs and Grátrana.
