Description
Grube Cox has mixed forest with lakes and ponds. Gargönd, Skutulönd and Dílaskarfur spend the winter on the lakes. Mistilþröstur can be seen in the poplars on the edges of the lake. In the forest, with a bit of luck, there are Stubbspæta , Fauskspæta, Kjarnbítur and Dómpápi.
In winter Skógarþröstur and Fjallafinka can also be seen. At night you can see Skógarsnípa, hear Náttugla call and very occasionally Úfur. During migration I saw Gjóður hunt, but it is rare to observe them here. From a herpetological point of view, it is also worth a visit, as you can observe sand lizards, grass snakes and common midwife toad here.
