Description
The Groß Schauener Seenkette nature reserve, located around 50 kilometers south-east of Berlin, is a popular attraction for birders. Along a 2 km long trail and from a 12 meter high observation tower you can see birds like Grátrana, different kinds of ducks and geese, Dílaskarfur, Blábrystingur, Næturgali, Síkjasöngvari, Reyrsöngvari, Brúnheiðir, Svölugleða, Vatnagleða as well as Gjóður and Haförn. With a bit of luck you can hear Sefþvari call in spring. The extensive water network is also an ideal habitat for the otter. If you arrive early in the morning, you might spot one hunting for fish.
