Description
The Eschbachwald is a forest area high over a valley at the bottom of which is a little stream that has been renaturalised. A walk here is interesting any time of year but especially in spring time the ground is blooming with spring flowers and various birds start nesting: Vatnagleða, Stari, Söngþröstur, Hettusöngvari, Gransöngvari, Músarrindill to name a few. Various raptors are also present: Turnfálki, Músvákur, Svölugleða. Great habitat for woodpeckers: even Svartspæta and Gráspæta were spotted here.
