Description
The Bordelumer Heide with its many habitats ranging from spruce forests and little ponds to heathland, provides a home to different bird species. In the forest you can find birds such as Grágrípur, Toppmeisa and Skógfeti. The ponds and the surrounding reed are habitats for Sefsöngvari, Grágæs and Bláþyrill. Where the area is more open you can hear Trjátittlingur sing in spring. Gaukur, Gultittlingur, Birkifinka and Hagaskvetta are also breeding in the heath areas. A Förufálki breeds near by in the radiotower. Sometimes Haförn are flying over the area to hunt at the coastline.
