Description
At the river Ahr are breeding Vatnalóa and Bláþyrill. In the floodplains are meadows, forests and a little reedbed. In the meadows are breeding Kattugla (10 territories in 2020). Þyrnisvarri and Engisöngvari are possible breeding birds. In the forests are breeding Næturgali , Laufglói and Fauskspæta. You can also see Vatnagleða and Gunnfálki during breeding time. In the little reedbed are Sefsöngvari and Seljusöngvari (also common next to the Ahr). Skopsöngvari and Spésöngvari can also be found in the area.
During migration, you can see migratory birds like Gjóður and Trjástelkur. In winter you can see some wintering birds like Fossbúi.

Access
There is a train station in Linz (direct connections to Cologne and Koblenz), from where you have to cross the Rhine with the ferry to Kripp. Another train station is in Sinzig (direct connections to Bonn and Koblenz) from where you can go directly to the meadows at the southern edge of the area.
You can park in Kripp (follow the B9 until Kripp). The walking route you see on the map is about 7 km.
