Description
The Prairie de Verjux is an agricultural plain which mixes grazed meadows, hay meadows and crops. One can observe typical species such as Fjöruspói, Vallskvetta, Korntittlingur and Gulerla. In the spring it is a hunting area for the Gráheiðir which nests in arable crops. One can regularly observe the Brúnheiðir and more rarely the Engirella. In winter the wastelands are dormitories for Bláheiðir and Brandugla. Access to the gravel pit on this site is prohibited, however from the outside you can see a beautiful colony of Bæjasvala.
