Situated on the banks of the Drac River, this small artificial lake is open for walking and water sports, but is nevertheless interesting for birding.

Description

At Plan d'eau du Champsaur it is possible to take a circular walk around the lake, part of which also allows you to walk along the Drac, an alpine river. More than 170 species have already been observed here, especially ducks including the Gulönd. But you can also observe many species of herons, raptors and waders.

Français: Situé au bord de la rivière Drac, ce petit lac artificiel est ouvert à la promenade et aux loisirs aquatiques, mais ne manque pourtant pas d'intérêt. Il est possible de faire une promenade circulaire autour du lac, dont une partie permet également de longer le Drac, rivière alpine. Plus de 170 espèces ont déjà été observées ici, surtout des anatidés dont le Harle bièvre, la plupart des ardéidés, des rapaces, des limicoles...

Access

Plan d'eau du Champsaur is located west of the town of Saint-Julien-en-Champsaur. Plenty of parking for those who come by car. Press P on the map for directions to a parking. The 2 km tour of the lake is done on foot and is accessible to people with reduced mobility (slightly different route to avoid a staircase and parts of the path that are not accessible). In season there is a restaurant on site.

Français: Nombreuses places de stationnement pour ceux qui viennent en voiture. Le tour du lac (2 km) se fait à pied et est accessible aux personnes à mobilité réduite (itinéraire légèrement différent pour éviter un escalier et les parties de sentier non accessibles). En saison, restaurant sur place.
