Les marais de Suscinio are a group of salt marshes and freshwater ponds, a large dune massif, with a large reed belt. A great area for birding.
The marshes of Suscinio regularly host Flatnefur. The Gjóður is sometimes observed mainly during migration periods, from mid-August to mid-November. Bjúgnefja are numerous in December; Gráhegri, Bjarthegri, Nílaríbis, Hvítstorkur, Álft, Stargoði are regularly present on the site. The Fenjasöngvari is observed during a post-nuptial stopover in August and September.

Français: Les marais de Suscinio sont un ensemble composé de marais salant et d'étangs d'eau douce, un massif dunaire important, avec une grande ceinture de roselière. Les marais de Suscinio hébergent régulièrement les Flatnefur de la Mer du Nord. On y observe parfois le Gjóðuressentiellement durant les périodes de migration, de mi-août à mi-novembre. Les avocettes sont nombreuses en décembre ; les hérons cendrés , les aigrettes garzettes, les ibis sacrés, les cigognes blanches, les Álft, les grèbes à cou noir sont régulièrement présents sur le site. Le Fenjasöngvari est observé en halte migratoire post-nuptiale en août et septembre. ( souvent, derrière le limiteur de hauteur d'accès au parking de la plage)
South of the Rhuys peninsula, take the direction of Sarzeau, then Suscinio castle, finally take the road to the beach after passing the castle (Chemin de Lousaou). You can make a circulair trail. The total route as displayed on the map is about 3.5 km.
