Le Champ Virlois is interesting for several reedbed species, including Blábrystingur, Reyrsöngvari, Síkjasöngvari, Rindilþvari, Keldusvín and Brúnheiðir. Pungmeisa has been spotted in stopover and crakes are possible.
In the surrounding forests Dómpápi, Gunnfálki, Laufsöngvari and Vatnagleða are quite easy to see. Tríll and Hvinönd can be found at the surrounding gravel pits.
