The Rhine is used as wintering area by waterbirds such as Skutulönd, Skúfönd, and a few gulls. Förufálki is often seen hunting or perched on the buildings in the industrial area nearby. Jarpönd and Gulönd can also be found. A few scarcities have been seen here, mostly in winter but also in migration period such as Dvergskarfur, Hávella or Korpönd.

From the A35, use the Saint-Louis exit and head towards Weil am Rhein in Germany. Follow the signs for the restaurant La Piste du Rhin and park there.
