Description
In spring and fall, Anse du Galon d'Or is a good spot for Gjóður. On the way to the beach through the forest you can hear Limsöngvari and Toppmeisa. In the reeds, you can observe Hálmsöngvari and Keldusvín. Sandtittlingur and Strandlóa are breeding in the coastsal dunes. It is therefore important to stay on the trails. In the marshland, with a bit of luck, you may see Busksöngvari and during migration species such as Vallskvetta and Steindepill looking for food.
In the neighboring pine trees, Flekkugrípur and Grágrípur hunt during autumn migration, as well as Garðaskotta, Laufsöngvari and other species. At high tide, gulls, terns and groups of limicoles come onto the beach. Note that you have to take a different route along the inside of the bay at high tide. See a link to the tide table below.

Access
Anse du Galon d'Or is located west of the town of Ronce-les-Bains. You can park on the Parking du Galon d'Or. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. There is also a beautiful cycle path (Parcours Vélo N°4) through the forest (forêt domaniale de la Coubre). The circular route shown on the map is about 2 km.
