Description

Amager Fælled is part of the Amager Nature Park. The area is used for many purposes, you can go on a picnic, walk your dog, ride a horse, fly kites and model airplanes, run, cycle and play. There is a great variety of habitat types here with open spaces and dense scrub, meadows, grasslands, bogs and lakes. The area has many paths.

The best place to watch birds is Grønjordssøen, where, among others, Sefþvari and Brúnheiðir breed. The lake is slightly hidden behind scrub and gives you the feeling of being in the middle of nature, even though you are close to the city. Many different species of ducks and grebes live here and in the spring there are many songbirds such as Húmgali, Sefsöngvari, Þyrnisöngvari, Spésöngvari and Söngþröstur.
