Lake with reed beds on the upper reaches of the Lužnička stream that attracts many birds. Almost 200 species of birds have been recorded here.

Description

Velký Rybník is a lake and nature reserve located on the upper reaches of the Lužnička stream. The lake and the reed beds are used by many birds during migration. Birds that visit or breed in the area include Dverggoði, Gaukur, Keldusvín, Brúnheiðir, Reyrsöngvari, Sönglævirki, Þistilfinka, Barrfinka, Kjarnbítur and Gultittlingur.

Note that lake is used for sport fishing. It is fished from the dam and the banks near it.

Access

The Velký Rybník Nature Reserve is located 1.5 km northeast of the village of Rybniště in the southwestern part of the Šluknov Uplands. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot.
