Nature preserve that consists of wetland, forest, and lake habitat.
Classified as an IBA (Important Bird Area), the Lac Boivin marsh provides shelter and rest area for many birds. Accessible year-round, its trails featuring two bird observation towers and boardwalks allows visitors to discover the diversified flora and fauna. This location is amazing for birding, because of its high number of birds seen. Common birds include: Wood Duck, Swamp Sparrow, Black-capped Chickadee, White-breasted Nuthatch and Least Flycatcher.
Parc Nature Lac Boivin is located just north of Granby, a large town with about 60,000 residents. Parking is found at the visitor center, which is also accessible through a bike path from the front of the town. Press P in the map for directions to the parking. Opening hours visitor center: during the week: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During the weekend: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Outside of opening hours, the trails remain accessible from 6 a.m. and until 10 p.m.
The reserve has 9.7 km of hiking trails. Over 400 meters of these trails consist of wooden boardwalks.
