Description
In the winter period, this area is a popular resting place for large numbers of ducks. Bláheiðir is also on the job every year, just like the noisy Blæsöngvari. In the spring it is on the puddles near the river Ijzer a coming and going of passing waders. For species such as Fjöruspói, Hrossagaukur , Jaðrakan , Vepja , Stelkur , Flóastelkur , Trjástelkur it is an important stopover on the way to the northern breeding areas.
