Description
The Koppenbergbos is a deciduous forest where you can enjoy woodpeckers such as Barrspæta as a common species and the Fauskspæta as the rarest. The large trees and the low-lying wood are good for Hnotigða, Garðfeti and Laufmeisa. The bushes are home to smaller songbirds such as Gullkollur, Glókollur and classics such as Bókfinka, Hettusöngvari supplemented with Fjallafinka in winter. For several years now, as in many forests in the Flemish Ardennes, there has been the presence of Úfur.

Nederlands: Het Koppenbergbos is een hellingbos met als primaire soorten beuken als boomsoort waar je kan genieten van Hnotigða, Laufmeisa en andere soorten. In dit loofhoutbos kun je spechten als Barrspæta zien als algemene soort en ook de Fauskspæta als de meeste zeldzame. De grote bomen en het middelhout is dan weer goed voor Hnotigða, Garðfeti en Laufmeisa. In de struiken zitten de kleinere zangers zoals Gullkollur, Glókollur en de klassiekers zoals Bókfinka, Hettusöngvari aangevuld met Fjallafinka in de winter. Sinds enkele jaren is er de aanwezigheid zoals in vele bossen in de Vlaamse Ardennen van Úfur.

The Koppenbergbos is located just south of Oudenaarde. There is a parking lot at the end of the Maria van der Gheynststraat. Press P on the map for directions to the parking lot. The circular walk indicated on the map is approximately 4 km.
