Mixed forest with some old beech lanes. Woodpeckers like Svartspæta and Stubbspæta breed here as well as Gáshaukur and other birds of prey. In spring you may experience a real concert of song birds: warblers, thrushes, tits, Flekkugrípur and Glókollur, while in winter, there's different species of finches and if you're lucky you may see an Skógarsnípa hiding beneath the bushes or gulls, Trjálævirki and Hagaskvetta on the surrounding fields.
