Description
The controlled tides of the Scheldt river give this birding spot some interesting characteristics. As the Bergenmeersen is quite far inland the brackish water and the tidal movement shape this area in a unique salt marsh and mudflats. During migration periods these mudflats attract wader birds like Jaðrakan , Bjúgnefja , Lindastelkur , Lyngstelkur , Sótstelkur , Flóastelkur , Lóuþræll. On the wooden path that runs trough the area it's possible to see Pungmeisa and Kampameisa in the reed beds (mostly during winter). Warblers like Engisöngvari , Blábrystingur , Síkjasöngvari and Sefsöngvari are easily to be heard from this wooden path during spring and early summer.
