Description
Only 15 km from Innsbruck, the Inzinger Gaisau is one of the last floodplains in the Inn Valley. It has ponds, woodlands, agricultural fields, wet meadows, reedbeds and borders the shores of the river Inn. This makes Inzinger Gaisau rich in habitats and therefore rich in birds.
Birds you can see here are Gráþröstur, Laufsöngvari, Gulönd, Bláþyrill, Trjástelkur, Spésöngvari Hettusöngvari, Stubbspæta and both Skógfeti and Garðfeti and many species of tits. In winter sometimes you can encounter large flocks of Þistilfinka, Barrfinka, and in late winter Fjallafinka.
On the northern waters edge you have a good view on meadows and reedbeds. You can find Vallskvetta here and with some luck Vatnagleða. On the pond you can see Dverggoði and different kinds of ducks. Around the reedbeds check for Keldusvín, Seftittlingur, Sefsöngvari, Reyrsöngvari and Síkjasöngvari.
