Description
Wyrrabalong National Park is a coastal reserve that conserves the last patch of coastal rainforest on the Central Coast. It is known for its diverse birdlife and scenic walking trails. The park is divided into two sections - north and south - separated by the town of The Entrance. The northern section of the park consists of approximately 480 hectares and occupies the barrier dune system separating Tuggerah Lakes from Tuggerah Beach. You can explore the rainforest, wetlands and Red Gum Forest on the lake side.
The northern section protects the largest stand of Sydney red gums, or Angophoras, on the Central Coast. Trunks change from orange in summer to pinkish-grey in winter. Visit around December to see the trees adorned with white flowers, and spot honeyeaters in the branches in wintertime.

Access
Wyrrabalong National Park is located on the Central Coast of New South Wales. The northern section lies between Tuggerah Lakes and Tuggerah Beach. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot.
The Lillypilly loop trail (4.6 km ) takes you through the rainforest under a canopy of towering corkwoods and cabbage tree palms while providing great views over the wetlands bordering Tuggerah Lakes. The Red Gum Trail (2.3 km) is an easy walk through Red Gum Forest.
