Idyllic little hide on the edge of a wetland area on the National Trust site Sizergh Estate.
A short walk from Brigsteer or a 2 km walk from the national trust car park (which has an excellent cafe and facilities) is this little hide that was extremely quiet and well maintained. Overlooking Park End Moss Wetland with panoramic openings and detailed bird information inside it is a great little spot not far off the M6. Birds that have been observed here include Barna rétihéja, Foltos nádiposzáta, cserregő nádiposzáta, Nádi sármány, Guvat, Sárszalonka, Nagy póling, Böjti réce, Kis vöcsök and Kis kócsag.
Park End Moss Wetland is located south of Kendal, near the village of Brigsteer. Easy accessible from the M6 highway. Park at the National Trust Carpark for Sizergh Estate (2 km walk along easy path, a little hilly). Press P on the map for directions to the carpark.
