Rewarding birding area comprising pasture, scrape, meandering ditches and large patches of gorse and scrub. Good for waders and many other nice birds.
Hooks Links is named after its previous usage as a nine-hole golf course. Shingle coast with lots of waders. Behind the beach mud flats, reed beds and scapes with gorse and meander pools. Good for waders, Kis kócsag, Hantmadár, sárga billegető and rozsdás csuk. Barkóscinege are regularly seen, also Bujkáló poszáta. Look in the sea for Pehelyréce, Common scotter and divers. But many more birds, see the extended list below.
Park on road just south of Maritime college. Numerous footpaths to the beach which take you past reed beds. See the suggested route (4,5 km) on the map below. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking area.
