Small Dorset heathland. Heather and Gorse. Sandy tracks. A good area to spot Bujkáló poszáta.
Holt Heath is one of Dorset’s remaining areas of lowland heathland. The area has a good population of Bujkáló poszáta. The heath also has breeding Nagy póling, Lappantyú and cigánycsuk. All six of Britain’s reptile species are found here.
Park in West Moors and pick up the Castleman trailway next to the memorial hall. Pass the playing fields and continue until you reach the heath. Click on the P in the map to get directions. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 9 km long.
