Description

Copt Hall is a working farm along side the Blackwater Estuary and boarders the Essex Wildlife trust Abbotts Hall reserves. It has a small car park from where you walk through the farmland and up on to the seawall. Here are reedy ponds, a view over the salt marsh and estuary. The raised seawall is parallel with a water filled dyke with some reed beds. The farmland is managed sympathetically for wildlife and is an attraction for some good farmland species. Local birders often visit in the evening for the raptor roost.

Birds you can observe include Kékes rétihéja, Barna rétihéja, Réti fülesbagoly, Kis sólyom, Sordély, Barkóscinege, Örvös lúd, sea ducks and shore birds. Possible geese species grazing of the arable fields and meadows. Overall a well worth visit. Arrive at high tide and enjoy the roosting waders and wildfowl. See a link to the tide table below.
