The surrounding woodland holds Nagy fakopáncs, Csuszka, Hegyi fakusz and Barátcinege. cserregő nádiposzáta breeds in the summer and ducks are present in winter.

Access

Chard Reservoir is located on the edge of Chard town in Somerset. A car park is situated at the south of the reservoir at the end of Oaklands Avenue, Chard. There are some brown directional signs in Chard to help guide you. Press P on the map for directions to the car park.

There is a hide at the south end of the reservoir through the woodland. There is a wooded walk on the east side of the reservoir which joins another car park at the north end which is sometimes limited to anglers only. There is a cycle path on the west side enabling a circular route, but there are no views of the water from the west side.
