Safa Park is a recreational park located in Dubai and is an ideal place for the novice birdwatcher of Arabian species and migratory birds.
Safa Park has different kinds of trees and many patches with shrubs. It also has a pond with lots of reeds, where you will see several songbirds. The park is well known by the locals as a place of rest and fun. It is also the first public park in Dubai. In 1975 it was built outside the city center, but due to the urbanization it is now centrally located. Many families come here to have a late night barbeque, while the children play on the lawns. You may think that this does not make bird watching easy. I had this impression too, but the park turned out to be an ideal place to spot the local prominent Arabian species, as well as to see the migratory birds (such as smaragdgyurgyalag and Búbos banka) that stop here to find new energy.
Parking is possible in the main car park (fee payable). If you do not have a rental car, Safa Park can be reached quickly and easily by taxi.
