Description
The Auried consists of a mosaic of habitats in the former floodplain of the Sarine/Saane River and this attracts a variety of wetland and farmland birds. It is especially important as a breeding place for törpegém, Bíbic and Nádirigó in Central Switzerland. Several Vörös kánya and Barna kánya (summer only) always patrol the area. Although interesting throughout the year, it is especially rewarding during migration, when a variety of waders, passerines and the occasional Halászsas stop over.
