Description
Sjötorpasjön is a good place to see wetland birds during much of the year. The surroundings (deciduous forests and farmland) are also interesting. Among the breeders are Búbos vöcsök, Bütykös hattyú, Barna rétihéja and in some years Bölömbika,Vörösnyakú vöcsök and Barkóscinege. Other breeders in the neighbourhood are Vörös kánya , Kis fakopáncs, őszapó and Kerti geze. During migration periods large flocks of Nyári lúd , Kanadai lúd , Tőkés réce and Csörgo réce stay at the lake, often including the odd duck or goose species.
From the birding tower you may see several raptors, especially Egerészölyv, Gatyás ölyv, Vörös kánya, Barna kánya, Halászsas and Rétisas.
