Description
South of Linköping lays a widespread area called Eklandskapet, within a short distance lays a number of old manors and mansions, and arround them old and preserved oakpastures. These biotops are full of life, mostly insects, fungie and lichen but also some nice birds. The pastures are the old park of Brokind mansion which lay at the shores of lake Järnlunden. Next to the mansion is an old lock ( still in use) whick connects the lake with the surrounding lakes and Kinna canal.
A walk through the pastures in spring and summer can give Macskabagoly, Szajkó ,Kormos légykapó , Kis fakopáncs , Nyaktekercs , Kerceréce (breeding in the oaks). At the lake Rétisas and Halászsas can be seen fishing. Big flocks of Nagy bukó in winter.
In mid june its worth keeping an eye open for the Stag beatle who mates in the early summer evenings.

If going by bus take nr 540 from Linköping Central station, step of at station Brokinds vägkors and cross the road.
If going by car take road 23 South from Linköping, park at the East side of the road.
