Description
Baksjön nature reserve is a lake is surrounded by coniferous and deciduous forest, while the agricultural landscape with fields and pastures opens up to the north and south. The open agricultural lands are of importance for the area as a bird sanctuary. Cattle keep the pasture open, which gives a more species-rich flora which in turn gives a more species-rich insect and bird fauna. Bird life includes nesting Bíbic, Sárszalonka, Réti pityer, Énekes hattyú and Kerceréce. Halászsas, Vándorsólyom, vörös vércse, Gyöngybagoly and Lappantyú have been seen foraging in the reserve.

Access
The reserve is located in Storfors, about 16 km north of Kristinehamn and about 3 km west of Lake Ullvettern. From Kristinehamn you drive road 64 towards Storfors – Filipstad. Turn off towards Lungsund. The reserve is signposted along the road.
