Mirador de Las Escaleras gives superb views on the Douro River, embedded in an impressive canyon, where the river reaches the Portuguese dam of Bemposta. The vast extension of the plateau and the stillness of the place is great, but also the vultures you can see flying by like Fakó keselyű, Barátkeselyű and Dögkeselyű. Other birds you can encounter are Szirti sas, Kígyászölyv, Törpesas, Vörös kánya, Barna kánya, Búbos banka, Gyurgyalag and vörös fogoly.
