Laguna Juncosa can sometimes dry up completely in summer, but in winter and after a wet spring it can be superb for birding. Among the birds you can encounter here are Kanalas réce, Kendermagos réce, Székicsér, billegetőcankó, Parti lile, asztrild, Búbospacsirta, Gulipán, Déli hantmadár, Rózsás flamingó, Kis kócsag, Batla, Gólyatöcs, kékcsőrű réce, üstökösréce, Feketenyakú vöcsök and when you are lucky Márványos réce or bütykös szárcsa.

Easiest to drive from El Puerto de Santa Maria north. The roads are private but most locals just use them. Alternative is to cycle. But that is a a bit far to go. Note that this lagoon can dry up in summer.
