Visitor center located at the foot of Mount Teide. It is free and the surroundings are excellent for birding. Also beautiful view on the Teide.
Centro de Interpretación el Portillo is a visitor center with easy access. What stands out the most is that it is surrounded by a botanical garden with an excellent area of pine forests, ideal for endemic species such as kék pinty, Kucsmás poszáta (ssp leucogastra), afrikai kékcinege or Erdei pinty (ssp canariensis).

The visitor center is close to the Teide volcano and has a free parking lot. It is best to walk around and explore the area. You can explore the botanical garden, but it is also very nice to explore the path on the back side in the direction of the Teide (you have to go through a swing gate) and gives a wonderful view of the volcano.
