The Punta de Cap de Creus on the easternmost point of Spain is a great place to watch seabirds along their migratory routes.
The peninsula of Cap de Creus is located in the north of the Costa Brava, and part of the Parque Natural de Cap de Creus. The cape of Punta de Cap de Creus is a great place to see seabird species, such as bukdosó vészmadár, baleári vészmadár, Üstökös kárókatona, Mediterrán vészmadár and Szula. As well as seabirds you can also spot Vándorsólyom and Kék kövirigó on the cliffs. The shrubs and bushes around the headland are home to Kucsmás poszáta, Búbospacsirta etc.
You can get here by going north from Girona until Figueres, then along the same road you will see the Parc Natural dels Aiguamolls de l'Empordà (another great place for birding, also describes on Birdingplaces). After this continue along the same road past Cadaqués and Port Lligat, then after a while you will see a large building which is an information centre to the area. From there you can walk around the area to spot birds.
Summer is quite busy with tourists and is therefore not the best time of year to see birds.
