The Great Brăila Island (Romanian: Insula Mare a Brăilei) is an island on the Danube river in the Brăila County. It has on average 57.9 km length and 18.6 km widthI. The Canalul Corotisca area is one of the best parts of the Great Brăila Island. It is located on the other side of the Danube at the town of Brăila. It is an area with ponds and forests, and therefore waterbirds and forestbirds. But there is also agricultural land. Pond birds, birds of prey, passerines, and many other birds can be observed. Some of the nice birds you can see are Vörösnyakú lúd, Batla, Haris, üstökösréce Fekete gólya, üstökösgém and Szalakóta.
