The mouth of the Vale Vaqueiro stream is one of the richest areas in avifauna in the central Portugal area. 180 bird species have been recorded here. Among the birds you can encounter are Fürj, vörös fogoly, Sárgarigó, Gyurgyalag, Kuvik, sivatagi őrgébics, ibériai füzike, Fekete gólya, Fehér gólya, kaffer sarlósfecske, Halászsas, Vadgerle and asztrild.
