Big fishpond complex for what Mazowsze offers, similar to Raszyn but on the other side of the city. A lot of waterbirds breed here.

Description

During the spring many waterbirds breed in the Ruda Fishponds Grebes such as Kis vöcsök, Búbos vöcsök and Vörösnyakú vöcsök. During migration many ducks can be seen, most interesting: Nyílfarkú réce, Kanalas réce, Kendermagos réce, Böjti réce and Csörgo réce, and sometimes others. Jégmadár can be seen every time on the river flowing through the complex. In the reeds you can hear and see Barkóscinege, Nádirigó, Függőcinege, cserregő nádiposzáta and various other species of warblers. In the sky raptors such as Rétisas, Egerészölyv, Karvaly and Héja. Various songbird species live in the nearby forest as well. During the migration plenty of shorebirds stop by. Szürke cankó, Réti cankó, Sárszalonka, Pajzsoscankó, Erdei cankó and billegetőcankó being the most common ones.

Access

One small parking spot behind the bridge on the river. Click on the P in the map for directions. Don't wander of the paths as it's a privately owned area. The area can only be visited on foot. The circular route indicated on the map is about 5 km.
