Description

The lake is located in a large agricultural area with some woods mixed in. There is a birding tower in the woods to the southwest which overlooks the lake. It's also possible to get good views along the road to the south and east, but be aware that this road is used by local farmers, so don't block it.

During spring and autumn migration, the lake usually holds good amounts of Barátréce. Keep a lookout for migrating predators as well, such as Kabasólyom, Kékes rétihéja and Darázsölyv. The reedbeds are a good spot for a variety of species. You will usually find Nádi sármány, cserregő nádiposzáta, Barna rétihéja and Guvat here during summer, as well as good numbers of Búbos vöcsök. Halászsas frequently visit, and there are still Bíbic breeding in the surrounding fields.

Rarer finds include Barkóscinege, Kis bukó and Bölömbika.
