Area with four observatory spots that is an important part of the migration routes for lots of birds.
The Maasvlakte is a large industrial area that has been constructed at the mouth of the Maas. The Maasvlakte is located directly on the North Sea and is part of the Port of Rotterdam. Birdwatching is surprisingly nice on the Maasvlakte. During both spring and autumn migration, the Maasvlakte is always good for vagrants and other surprises. You can see many seabirds and sometimes a 'fall' of migratory birds occurs. These are birds that are so exhausted from their journey across the sea that they flop down at your feet. Local birds are Csörgo réce , Fütyülő réce , but you can also find Szula , Sarki búvár , Ezüstlile and Kenti csér.

The area is accessible by car. Click on a P in the map to get directions.
