Description
De Knokkert (also known as the Forest of Erasmus) is traditionally a wet, marshy piece of land in the Strijdersgatpolder and is now a protected nature reserve. It is a varied area with deciduous forests, hawthorn hedges, open meadows and old cattle drinking wells. Woodland birds, waterfowl and reed birds breed in De Knokkert. Birds you may encounter in the area are Nagy fakopáncs, Zöld küllo, Erdei szalonka, Sárszalonka, Kis vöcsök, őszapó, cigánycsuk, Berki poszáta, billegetőcankó, Erdei cankó, Erdei fülesbagoly en Karvaly.

Nederlands: De Knokkert (ook bekend onder de naam het Bos van Erasmus) is van oudsher een nat, moerassig stuk grond in de Strijdersgatpolder en tegenwoordig een beschermd natuurgebied. Het is een afwisselend gebied met loofbossen, meidoornhagen, open weilanden en oude veedrinkputten. In De Knokkert broeden bosvogels, watervogels en rietvogels. Access
De Knokkert nature reserve is located near Cadzand, north of the Breskens-Sluis provincial road. You can park in the parking lot on the Knokkertweg. Click on the P in the map for directions. An 'Experience Path' of about 1.5 kilometers runs through the area. But there are also other paths to explore the area.

Nederlands: Natuurgebied De Knokkert ligt vlak bij Cadzand ten noorden van Provinciale weg Breskens-Sluis. Parkeren kan op de parkeerplaats aan de Knokkertweg. Klik op de P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving. Door het gebied loopt een 'Beleefpad' van zo'n 1,5 kilometer. Maar er zijn meerdere paden om het gebied te verkennen.
