Reed and marsh area with a lot of sprouting willow trees. Breeding area of different species of herons that can be seen very well near the bird hide.
Herons and reed birds are breeding in this new nature reserve. Among others Vörös gém, Bölömbika, Nagy kócsag, Bakcsó. Many different kinds of songbirds including Berki poszáta, Foltos nádiposzáta, Barkóscinege, Mezei poszáta. From the bird observation tower the breeding herons can be seen and followed very well.

Nederlands: De Auken is een riet- en moerasgebied met veel opslag van wilgen. Broedgebied van enkele reigerachtigen die vlakbij de vogelkijkhut zijn te zien. In dit nieuwe natuurgebied zijn enkele soorten reigerachtigen tot broeden gekomen. O.a. Vörös gém, Bölömbika, Nagy kócsag, Bakcsó . Vele diverse soorten zangvogels waaronder Berki poszáta, Foltos nádiposzáta, Barkóscinege, Mezei poszáta. Vanuit de kijktoren zijn de broedende reigers heel goed te zien en te volgen.
On the N334 / Beulekkerweg turn after 160 to the Beulakkerweg. After 1200 meters turn left to De Auken. To the right of the road you will find a P. Follow the path via a small footbridge for 500 meter to the observation tower.
