Description
The Bergvennen are a sloping landscape of almost 100 hectares with seven fens, dry and wet heathland, hay meadows and forest. The fens are natural depressions that were probably created by meltwater after the Ice Age. The Waterlobelia, which is rare in the Netherlands, grows along the banks. Among the breeding birds in the area are Kis vöcsök, Csörgo réce, Kis lile, Bíbic, Erdei pacsirta, Erdei pityer, cigánycsuk and Citromsármány. During the spring migration you can encounter all kinds of ducks such as Böjti réce, Nyílfarkú réce, Kontyos réce, Kanalas réce, Bütykös ásólúd and waders such as Szürke cankó, Erdei cankó and billegetőcankó. During autumn migration and winter you can sometimes see Kis sárszalonka, Sárszalonka and Nagy őrgébics.

Dit terrein van bijna 100 hectare is eigendom van het Landschap Overijssel. De vennen zijn natuurlijke laagtes die waarschijnlijk na de IJstijd zijn ontstaan door smeltwater. Langs de oevers groeit de in Nederland zeldzame Waterlobelia. Broedvogels in het gebied zijn onder meer Kis vöcsök, Csörgo réce, Kis lile, Bíbic, Erdei pacsirta, Erdei pityer, cigánycsuk en Citromsármány. Tijdens de voorjaarstrek kun je allerlei eendensoorten tegenkomen zoals Böjti réce, Nyílfarkú réce, Kontyos réce, Kanalas réce, Bütykös ásólúd en steltlopers als Szürke cankó, Erdei cankó en billegetőcankó. Tijdens najaarstrek en winter kun je soms Kis sárszalonka, Sárszalonka en Nagy őrgébics zien.

Access
The Bergvennen are located a few kilometers east of the village of Lattrop. You can park for free in front of the entrance to the nature reserve. Click on the P in the map for directions. There are several hiking trails through the area. The circular walk indicated on the map is approximately 6 km. You will also pass a bird viewing screen with a view of the largest fen. The Brecklenkampse Veld is located north of the Bergvennen. However, this area with dry and wet heathland, grassland and wet lows is not accessible.

Nederlands: De Bergvennen liggen enkele kilometers ten oosten van van het dorp Lattrop. Je kunt gratis parkeren voor ingang van het natuurgebied. Klik op de P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving. Er lopen verschillende wandelroutes door het gebied. De rondwandeling die is aangegeven op de kaart is ongeveer 6 km. Je komt daarbij ook langs een vogelkijkscherm met uitzicht op het grootste ven. Ten noorden van de Bergvennen ligt het Brecklenkampse Veld. Dit gebied met droge en natte heide, grasland en natte laagtes is echter niet toegankelijk. Ten zuiden van het grootste ven ligt een camping. Dit deel van het gebied is dan ook drukker.
