Description
The Autrichepolder is a recently constructed water and marshland. From the canal dike you have a beautiful view over the area. It can be very rich in birds with large numbers of ducks and geese: Tőkés réce, Bütykös ásólúd, Kanalas réce, Kendermagos réce, Csörgo réce, Kontyos réce, Nyári lúd, Kanadai lúd and in winter Nagy lilik and Tundrai vetési lúd. Waders and meadow birds also know how to find the area, such as Sárszalonka, Bíbic, Csigaforgató, Gulipán, Piroslábú cankó and occasionally Kis lile. In the summer you have a chance to see Feketenyakú vöcsök.

Nederlands: De Autrichepolder is een recent aangelegde water- en moeraspartij. In 2002 is het natuurgebied aangelegd. Het gebied staat onder sterke invloed van kwel uit het kanaal van Gent naar Terneuzen. Vanaf de kanaaldijk heb je een prachtig zicht over het gebied. Het kan er zéér vogelrijk zijn met grote aantallen eenden en ganzen: Tőkés réce, Bütykös ásólúd, Kanalas réce, Kendermagos réce, Csörgo réce, Kontyos réce, Nyári lúd, Kanadai lúd en in de winter Nagy lilik en Tundrai vetési lúd. Ook steltklopers en weidevogels weten het gebied te vinden zoals Sárszalonka, Bíbic, Csigaforgató, Gulipán, Piroslábú cankó en een enkele keer Kis lile. In de zomer heb je kans om Feketenyakú vöcsök te zien.
